Digital Takeoff with PlanSwift and Sage Timberline Estimating

Sometimes the path from takeoff to the estimate can be a tedious one in the construction industry. Compiling costs from a variety of different sources and attempting to bring them all together with complete accuracy can be tricky, especially if it’s being done the old-fashioned way—on paper.

Sage has partners with PlanSwift to introduce a complete takeoff and estimating solution to the construction industry - PlanSwift for Sage.

“This integration actually embeds the powerful assemblies of Sage Timberline Office Estimating inside of PlanSwift’s takeoff interface, which will streamline the estimating process,” says James Purpurs, president and COO, PlanSwift.
The PlanSwift program gives contractors the ability to perform material takeoffs using digital plans on a computer screen, and serves as a replacement for both paper plans and digitizer boards. Estimators can save time and achieve greater accuracy using the PlanSwift for Sage “drag-and-drop interface.” The software also enables contractors to perform takeoffs and estimates instantly by integrating Sage Timberline Office Estimating assemblies into the PlanSwift for Sage software.

According to Matthew Miller, director of marketing, PlanSwift, PlanSwift for Sage helps construction companies operate more efficiently.

“The construction industry is changing. The recession is leading builders into the digital age,” says Miller. “The days of doing takeoffs from paper plans are coming to an end.”

  1. The fact that the Sage Timberline estimating software can be integrated with another software like PlanSwift is good. James Purpurs said that it's going to streamline the process of estimating. If that's the case, then it's going to make planning one level easier.
